Well, I was told to blog and here i am bloggin. BTW... i wud b using the short forms coz to write all the words is kindoff discouragin to write :D:D and the smileys inevitably add some emotions to the write up. so here i go with my first blog.
its kinda serius subject tht i wud hv here first up where i deal with the question of ones attachment to his/her nation. there r ppl who say if a person leaves india, he/she bcomes an NRI and doesnt nymore hv ny sort of luv for his/her country. they hav all sorts of longforms for the word NRI which undoubtedly hv a negative connotation. so here is my point of view of being or not being indian...
i neither wear a flag badge nor do i go around with our tricolored flag evrywhere on aug 15th and jan 26th. but tht doesnt make me an anti indian in any way! the luv of the ppl who does all the above things is seen in varius places like roads, dustbins etc. on aug 16th and jan 27th. i guess the ppl callin themselves nation luvers are nation luvers for 2 days an year.... the point here i wanna make is... it is not mandatory to "show" one's luv... but it shud b there... and i can proudly say tht its there in me...!
i am presently in germany for my studies. like me many ppl go out of india for studies, work, business etc. its not their anti indianism tht takes them out of india... neither its their lack of luv... its just the need of time... the ambition to build ones career takes them out of india. ppl in india strt saying tht the person has lost his luv for india and has bcome one of "THEM"! well i hv a question for such ppl... and thts wht gr8 things r u doin sittin in india than me sittin outside india.. i guess its just the frustration of these ppl who r unable to go outside india tht makes them say things like tht. also, i wud like to let these ppl kno tht their r more ppl who r non-indians at heart in india than outside india. the bottomline is... u dont hv to b in india to luv it!!
another point i wud like to say is the view about NRIs. ppl say crap bout NRIs and nevr stop tht. i think ppl hv to change this outlook and see the NRIs as our country's ambassadors residing in other countries. those ppl r there bcoz they r doin somethin imp. no country is ready to invite and giv residency for indians for no reason as it must b very much apparent from the visa successrates. i was in the indian embassy on jan 26th this year and had an oopurtunity to see many NRIs gathered there to listen to President's speech. they were supposedly there leaving their businesses and work just for giving sometime to their nation. no one sees tht... unfortunately. these r the ppl who r doin our country proud out there... instead of cursing them we shud hv a lil more respect for them.
lastly, i think its individuals choice to b residing in india or outside india. it might depend on many factors excluding the lack of luv for india. u cannot weigh and measure and show luv... it has to b felt... felt within u... and sensed... sensed from a distance! for ppl who dont hv these feelings and sensitivities.... all i hv to tell is... i luv my country and wud giv my bit back to it some day.... :)
